The Bromeliads are fascinating plants from the tropics. This illustration describes a possible new species to science. This plant (Navia sp.) was discoverer by Charles Brewer Carias (renowned venezuelan explorer) during an expedition to Sierra de Lema, a mountain range from the Southeast Venezuela. To paint this bromeliad "in situ" during that expedition was a real honor to me.
