Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio is the only bridge in Florence which survived the Second World War. Jewelry shops line the bridge (since jewelers could afford to pay higher rent they replaced the tanners and butchers, who occupied the shops in the Middle Ages). Florence is known for its gold jewelry as well as its leather products.
