Quasi tutte le regioni italiane hanno avuto una propria ferrovia a scartamento ridotto: un mondo “minore”denso di fascino. Lo sviluppo delle ferrovie a scartamento ridotto avvenne, in Europa, quando, definita la rete ferroviaria fondamentale, occorreva costruire quella complementare e secondaria.
Ficuzza fu la prima linea ferroviaria a scartamento dirotto della Sicilia.
Oggi la stazione è divenuta un agruturismo
