Agua de Beber – Natalie
March 20, 2009
Sol Lang posted a photo:
I don’t know why this is, but when I look at this image, it reminds me of a song by Brazilian composer and musician, Antonio Carlos Jobim – Agua de Beber. So I set it up to play on my iTunes, in the background, while working on the post production of this image. If you don’t know the song, it is well worth getting. I am an avid fan of Smooth Jazz Bossa Nova and Antonio Carlos Jobim is considered the creator of the genre.
I had the song on repeat and then I decided to listen to all my music that falls into this category. I completed the work on the photograph and decided to check on some live performances of this illustrious artist on YouTube. Well... a plethora of clips. If you like the genre, I highly recommend viewing all these clips, especially duets where Jobim performs with Frank Sinatra and Andy Williams. Then there are live performances on stage. Some quite recent. I also enjoyed viewing his singing partner Astrud Gilberto, whose distinct voice became renowned for her original version of Girl from Ipanema.
I may never quite figure out why this music compliments this photograph so well. I think it’s just a feeling I get when looking at it. The music is very sexy, by the way. The rest I will have to leave to your imagination. But maybe it’s better not to figure it out and rather just feel it.
As a tribute to the culture from which this amazing music has derived, I translate this text to Portuguese (using Google Translate).

The Internet business is pretty amazing. If one plays their cards right, one can become quite the "internet phenomina".
Take this little achievement, for instance. natalie and I have collaborated on several sessions resulting in projects that have included publication, exhibition, and video production. Our collaborative projects have been seen by hunderds of thousands, perhaps even millions of people. We have only few monitoring sytems in place to know for sure.
But the viral effects of the internet continue to penetrate the on-line society that derives its information and entertainment acquisition from the "Net".
Girl of the Day on Break.com was picked up from one of our sets on Zivity.com and so it goes.

Selective Focus, Selective Exposure

Yet another pose by Natalie as she graciously agreed to pose for me and collaborate in creating a Zivity.com set.
The up-skirt genre can be stylistic, erotic and, of course, artistic. There are several photographers who have used this style to provoke arousal. For me it conjures up memories of youth, when girlfriends and fellow female students, knowingly sat, legs spread, exposing their inner thighs and panties with the deliberate intention to arouse me and cause me discomfort. Do I peak or look straight into her face as we converse? Not wanting to appear obvious by staring, this was often a dilemma.
Seen here is an out-take from the Zivity shoot. It’s only an out-take because it doesn’t fit the sequence, since Zivity sets are a bit like photo essays showing stories in sequence. But this image is by no means inferior to the others in any way. Somehow, Natalie can’t take a bad shot. Every photograph is a “munchkin”, a tasteful morsel to be savored and enjoyed.

So Passionate! — Isabella
November 26, 2008
Sol Lang posted a photo:
I’ve always maintained that the power of erotica is not what is visible, rather it is what is hidden.
I have been recently challenged to explore the world of fetishism. I am intrigued to get started with leather, vinyl and metal. Stockings, thigh highs such as fish nets with garters. Seven inch high heels. This genre of photography opens up to new markets. publications and audiences.
The tenderness of the sacred feminine will be replaced by the rough, aggressive dominatrix. Am I prepared for it? I think, yes. It is time to move to a place of lesser comfort for the sake of creative growth.
I don’t think I can completely abandon the sweetness of the models I have captured so far. But I am also looking forward to these new challenges.
As always, the large version is worth seeing.

Natalie's "seduction" fantasy session.
She starts out by dressing her imaginary man (mannequin), only to ignite arousal in herself. Before too long, instead of dressing him she playfully undresses for him. Natalie's imaginative posing skills in expressing this concept are absolutely brilliant and her look and poise are just adorable.
I have photographed Natalie on several occasions, but this was the first custom shoot for Zivity. There will definitely be more in the near future.

Erotica Redefined
October 23, 2008
Sol Lang posted a photo:
Strong words to describe my model. But I think they are quite accurate when it comes to Milena. Her image, a vision of classic beauty, is compelling and arousing. So much so that she can just stand there in a portrait, fully clothed, and be just as tempting as she is in our nudes. Although I have shown many images of her in the nude, I keep coming back to these, that I took before she actually undressed. It may be her utter facial beauty with perfect features and skin, or her expressive stare with eyes that one can get lost in. To have helped create and capture all this with my art, gives me great satisfaction.
If you are new to my stream, you will find that many of Milena’s images are either restricted or moderate. It would be well worth it (if you are over 18 and your religious views allow) to turn off the safety features while viewing my stream, weather browsing Milena or any of my models.
I would also like to invite those interested, to view my other photographs of landscapes, city decay, portraits and street photography. Although they are moving down the stream, deeper and deeper into the past, I think they are well worth a visit, as they are all right there, available to be viewed.
You can see the above image in the large version, for a better appreciation.

Long Legged Woman Walking Away
October 3, 2008
Sol Lang posted a photo:
The image of a long legged woman walking away in a stride that can only be achieved while wearing high heels, is about as erotic an image as I can imagine. It is second only to the image of a woman pulling a garment over her head to reveal her nude bosom as she undresses. I have had the pleasure to experience and photograph both with Caitlin, my long haired / long legged subject of inspiration.

The end of a hot day with Isabella

Sol Lang posted a photo:
We have just about wound up a day of shooting. This was possibly the hottest day of the year. As the sun's rays were lowering behind the lush foliage of our overgrown garden, the light was spectacular as it bathed her hair and skin. In my usual manner, the camera is always at hand to capture every moment. Weather she is holding a pose or just thinking intently, Isabella can't help but flatter the composition that I so carefully frame in my viewfinder. We always did work well together. She by presenting herself in the best possible way, her way. Me by presenting her in the best possible way, my way.

What are you doing down there, Sol?

Sol Lang posted a photo:
Caitlin's got the most beautiful legs. The best angle to capture them from is low looking upworrds. The destorted exageration of an ultra wide angle lens helps to make those legs longer and more attractive. But the same lens when used differently can also have a stylized humorous effect when used for that purpose. This is one of the tools a photographer can use in communicating his message through images. Communicators of all kinds use skills that shape our minds and persuade. Sometimes selling ideologies and other times products. The written word, the short documentary film, a painting, a song – all work towards attempting persuasion. The persuadors are awfully skilled in their craft. Very convincing in their message. We see this in polititions. They can get an entire nation to rally around them. For God and country. Something to think about.
I have recently seen the documentary ZEITGEIST - The Movie. If you are a free thinker, it is worth a look.

Mood and attitude are the two components that I try to convey with each image. In this image I have well achieved both. I especially am happy with the background which is an art piece created by my wife and artist Mary Bogdan. It is called "Playing Battle Dress Up." I don't want to take away any attention from Elise, but the art behind her is one of Mary's most controversial pieces amongst many. Elise certainly makes us want to take a closer look.

A pregnant Rose
July 13, 2008
Sol Lang posted a photo:
Somewhere in time we came to learn the visual iconography and meaning of pregnancy. It is an image that we have come to know and that has become very much a part of our visual language. It expresses femininity in a different and tender way. Beyond raw erotica, a pregnant woman, although still looking very attractive, possibly even considered sexy by some, evokes tenderness and emotion that, like art itself, is representative of creation and all manner of Godliness. Womankind, Eve, Sarah, Mary, all have been represented in art as the matriarchs of our (western) civilization. I take no credit for creating, but rather being the conduit, the messenger, so-to-speak, of these understandings, through my photographic art. I am only responsible for having well observed the art that has passed before me. Having developed an aesthetic that is learned and eventually mimicked by me in the creation of my “original” imagery.
